The country is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Caribbean. But this country also has one of the most unique healthcare systems in Latin America. Most of Latin America is underdeveloped but the Dominican Republic has been relatively successful when it comes to its healthcare services. It’s not the best but it’s definitely not the worst. The quality of care is wide-ranging throughout the country. With the best medical care coming in the large cities and the capital, health care can be third world-like in other areas. Just like in the United States and other countries, the higher your socioeconomic status the better quality of care of receive.
